Joyren is a 39yo Filipino domestic helper. She is blessed with 3 daughters aged 12yo, 9yo and 7yo who she took care of when they were newborn babies. Joyren is currently working as stay in helper in Philippines with low salary and her husband was passed away. Therefore, she is looking forward to working in Singapore to earn more money to support her children.

Jul 2021 to Dec 2023 (2yrs & 5mo) Saudi Arabia: Joyren worked for an Arabian family of 5 with 3 children aged 5yo (boy) and newborn twins (boy and girl). The family living in a three-bedroom apartment. She was the only helper in the household, responsible for infant care including bathing, feeding, changing diapers, and changing clothes. She also handled childcare for the 5yo boy, such as playing with him, sending him to school, and preparing his clothes, uniform, and school bag. In addition, she managed general housework including cleaning, washing, laundry, and ironing. She completed her contract and returned to her hometown.

Mar 2024 to Present (1 yrs & 5mo) Philippines: Joyren worked for a Filipino family of 2 adults. The family living in a flat with 4 bedrooms. There were 4 Filipino helpers in the household. Joyren primary responsibility was cooking, where she prepared a variety of dishes including Filipino, Italian, and Spanish cuisine. She took pride in ensuring meals were well-prepared and suited to the family’s taste. She sometimes assisted with pet care, feeding 3 dogs — 1 large and 2 small when needed.

During our face-to-face interview in Manila, Joyren shared that she is able to cook simple Italian, Spanish and Filipino food and she enjoys cooking and singing during her free time.  She is now ready to work abroad again to earn more money for her children's future. Joyren describes herself as a trustworthy, patient, independent, loyal, and good listener person who is hands-on and always willing to learn.
